Description

Foraging on my property in western Montana I gather cottonwood buds.  These little treasures contain a beautiful red resin (know as balm of Gilead) which contains a chemical called salicylate.  It is the precursor to aspirin and has analgesic and antiseptic effects on the skin.  I infuse olive oil with this  wonderful resin and mix it with local, raw bees wax for a therapeutic salve that smells like heaven.
